I love comedy. I love fantasy football. I love watching men being idiots. The League has it  all. I love it. It is the first comedy that I’ve seen with semi realistic talking, although the outlandish situations are very sitcomish.

The League is about a group of five guys who are friends and part of a fantasy football league. They deal with the normal things ordinary, grown men have to deal with; a marriage that is breaking up, a daughter that is picking up poo, a wife that hasn’t let her husband touch her after giving birth to their son, a wife who knows as much about football as her husband and plays vicariously through him. From homo-erotic references to crazy sexcapades, this show is one that people should be watching.

I didn’t think they would be able to pull off a show about fantasy football, but they not only get the anxiety and the things that make us crazy playing this imaginary game, but they also get the points that make this seem so familiar. If you’re not a fantasy football fan, you can still watch it with some enjoyment. And by some, I mean you’re gonna laugh. If you’ve seen The League, what do you think?

It starts tonight. I’m just excited.

Last season saw Tommy dealing with a lot – as always. I mean, how could it not when this whole thing started with 9/11? People losing children, people dying, people trying to stop drinking when it’s the only thing holding them together… Plus that signature blend of drama and comedy that only Dennis Leary can deliver. Well, him and his crew. So I wait impatiently for the new season of Rescue Me to start, wondering just what the hell it will bring.
